Our Approach at Peaceful Pond Psychiatry

Our goal is to provide care that is both clinically grounded and deeply collaborative—helping patients better understand their mental health and move toward lasting stability and wellness. Care decisions are made collaboratively, with time taken to understand each patient’s story, symptoms, and goals.

About the Provider
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Beginning psychiatric care can feel like a big step. The first appointment is designed to create space to understand what you have been experiencing and begin developing a thoughtful plan for care.
Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation conducted through secure telehealth. During the appointment we will discuss:
• current symptoms and concerns
• mental health history
• medical history and medications
• past psychiatric treatments
• sleep patterns and stress levels
• personal treatment goals
This evaluation helps determine whether medication may be helpful and what treatment options may best support your care.
If medication is recommended, options will be discussed carefully so you understand the purpose of treatment, potential benefits, and possible side effects before moving forward.
When medications require prior authorization from insurance companies, our practice advocates for patients by submitting necessary documentation and helping navigate the approval process so recommended treatment can be accessed whenever possible.
Labs and Medical Considerations
In some situations, lab work may be recommended as part of a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to care. These tests can sometimes provide helpful insight into medical factors that may influence mood, energy, sleep, or overall mental wellness.
When labs are recommended, orders can be sent to a local laboratory so testing can be completed at a convenient location.
The goal is to approach mental health care thoughtfully, considering both psychological and medical factors that may influence overall wellness.
