About Peaceful Pond Psychiatry
Peaceful Pond Psychiatry was founded by Kimberly Abuajah, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a background in emergency psychiatry, crisis stabilization, and outpatient care. Over the years, Kimberly has supported individuals of all ages navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions — always with compassion and curiosity, never judgment.
But this practice isn’t just built on clinical experience — it’s built on lived experience.
There was a time when Kimberly herself struggled silently. Despite showing up for school, work, and family, there were moments she felt like she was barely holding it together. And when she finally sought help, she was often met with dismissiveness or disbelief — told she didn’t “look like” someone who needed support.
That lack of understanding left her feeling unseen. But instead of giving up, she leaned in — researching how food, sleep, movement, mindset, and connection shape our emotional wellness. She studied nutrition, positive thinking, cognitive behavioral therapy, and holistic healing. She realized what she needed wasn’t just a diagnosis — it was a space to be heard, to process, and to heal with care that saw the full picture.
As a nurse in the emergency department, she later watched countless others go through similar experiences — people in pain, brushed aside or rushed through systems not designed to listen deeply. That reminder reignited her passion: to build something different.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health. These achievements reflect not only academic excellence, but a deeper commitment to offering informed, empathetic care grounded in both science and lived understanding.
A Practice Rooted in Compassion & Wholeness
At Peaceful Pond Psychiatry, we meet you where you are — not just as a set of symptoms, but as a whole person. We provide thoughtful, integrative care that includes psychiatric evaluations, supportive therapy, and non-controlled medication management when appropriate — alongside practical guidance on how sleep, nutrition, stress, and habits impact your wellbeing.
Our approach is warm, relational, and unhurried. We welcome clients from all walks of life and especially hold space for women navigating unique emotional challenges — whether related to burnout, transitions, or simply the weight of trying to do it all.
Here, you don’t need to “prove” you’re struggling to receive support. You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t need to carry it alone.
This is a space for clarity, growth, and emotional grounding.
A space to be heard.
A space to begin again — gently, intentionally, and with support.
Welcome to Peaceful Pond.
