A PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) is an advanced practice nurse who specializes in mental health care. PMHNPs are licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions. Treatment may include medication management, lifestyle and nutrition guidance, supportive therapy, and integrative approaches that focus on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Your initial session is a comprehensive intake (about 60 minutes). We’ll explore your mental health history, current concerns, medical background, lifestyle habits (like sleep, nutrition, and movement), and any spiritual or personal values you’d like to incorporate into your care.
Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes and focus on progress, adjusting treatment plans, reviewing labs, and supporting long-term wellness.

For those without insurance, we also offer a sliding scale option to help keep care accessible. In these cases, payment is due at the time of service.
If we are not in-network with your plan, payment will also be due at the time of service. For patients with out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

At Peaceful Pond Psychiatry, we understand that life happens, but we kindly ask for notice so we can respect everyone’s time.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule. The visit will then be considered a late cancellation/no-show and billed accordingly.
Late Cancellations/No-Shows: Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice will be billed as follows:
• Follow-up sessions: $75 fee
• Initial intake sessions: Full service feeRepeated Violations: Ongoing late cancellations or missed sessions may require pre-payment for future visits or result in discontinuation of services.

No. Peaceful Pond Psychiatry does not prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants or benzodiazepines. If clinically necessary, we will work with your primary care provider or a trusted referral partner to support those needs.

Yes! We believe mental health care extends beyond medication alone. We may incorporate:
Lab testing to understand biological contributors to mood and energy
Nutrition and supplement recommendations

You’ll find a soft, cozy couch to relax on, and we provide complimentary drinks during your visit to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
